Josh GREAT PREVIEW, this is one of the top 3 PLay on Wii games i’m looking forward too (the other two are the Metroid Prime games, can’t wait to replay them with wii controls!) You explained everything i was wondering about with the controls. I just have one question, in the video DK was wearing a crown the whole time, i’m assuming you get those after beating a level or chapter, but does DK always have it on or can you choose to have it on/off?

Since I saw you hold up the Pikmin case and it didn’t have all the New Play Control banner and other annoying crap that made the boxes look ugly to me. If they are different, would you mind showing me what they look like? Via email (mine’s kylehogg@gmail.com) or somewhere on the web?
Nice preview, i had this game on the gamecube, and didnt stop did i had done 100% But now its time to grab this one when it comes, as well as pikmin. One question though, what games from the gamecube are going from GC to wii other then the 2 mentioned, i think it would be fun to see games like wind waker, mario sunshine, or amazing island on the wii.
I found out about this site a few days ago, and I just wanted to sign up to say that your videos are really well done. I’ve been watching all of the video tours and they’re very informative and fun to watch.
Anyways, I never played this game on the Gamecube (the bongo controls did put me off a little bit) so I think I’ll be picking this up once it comes to the US. I’ll probably also get Pikmin 2, as I only owned the Pikmin 1 (which you did a fantastic tour on, by the way), and the first one was one of my favorites on the Gamecube. I own all of the other New Play Control games on the Gamecube, so those purchases would depend on how much I really want to try out a new control scheme for the game.
Great work Joshy! I loved the GC game and now I’m convinced that these new controls work perfectly! I’m gonna end up buying a lot of “new play control” games!
Will you do a preview for Mario Tennis? I’m really curious about the quality of the controls in that game… I’m afraid they will be as inaccurate and “random” as Wii Sports, but I hope I’m wrong!
Great preview. Not a fan of DK and I’m not sure I’ll end up buying the game, but you seemed to be having a lot of fun. Can’t wait for the Metroid wiimakes though.
ohmagash i thought it was kinda awkward when i first saw this game for the gamecube but later i kinda regretted not buying it cause the drum idea looked pretty fun. the combo things really neat too i cant wait for the U.S release! good tour!
Oh…..a very nice video demonstration from New Play Control! Donkey Kong Jungle Beat. I never played the GCN-Version. Hopefully, NoE drop a EU-Release very soon.
I am as of now disappointed in IGN’s review of this game. They completely fail to mention the number of new things added here aside from the controls. There was not one word about the health bar, lives, banana achievements, hand slap attack, roots. It was just it’s the same game but with new controls. While, in a way there correct, it is misleading because there are more changes here then your average new play control game.
This is INCREDIBLY in-depth.

You get to wear the crown when you beat the game 100%.

@Diego try the Low Quality version. On the player at the bottom right you see it has a “HQ,” click it and then click on “LQ.” Hope that help some.
